Human Rights

The FDU-Inkingi document and denounce the human rights violations committed in Rwanda, and advocate for respect of the fundamental freedoms of all citizens.

For years, the regime in place has repressed every dissenting voice: arbitrary arrests, incommunicado detention, enforced disappearances, unfair trials and the intimidation of opponents, journalists and human rights defenders, in Rwanda and in exile alike.

Our advocacy

  • Collect and document the testimony of victims and their families.
  • Alert international and regional human rights organisations.
  • Demand independent investigations and an end to impunity.
  • Support political prisoners and their relatives.

Bodies seized

The FDU-Inkingi bring cases of violations before the competent bodies, notably the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR), which has already ruled against Rwanda for violating freedom of expression and the rights of the defence.
